Lately I have been visiting a church with my friend (we'll call her "Mary"). Mary is someone who vowed 2013 would be the last time she ever stepped foot in the cult, AKA ntcc. Her husband still goes (though it appears there is hope not much longer). "Mary" wanted to find a new church she could be happy at and feel at home at. I told her I'd be happy to go with her and so I have. She went to a few and she wasn't sure, but finally, she found one that she thinks she will like. I told her I'd go with her for a little while (as I already have a church home) until she felt comfortable enough to go on her own, after establishing a repor and some friendships.
As "Mary" and I spend time talking, I'm reminded of several people I once knew. She's shared with me how miserable they are. So many are nearly homeless, are jobless, have to go to food banks for food and just plain depressed. It is so heart breaking to know there are so many. Person after person she reminds me of names of people I know and tells me of there despair. Where is ntcc? Why don't they care?! I have another friend I'll be emailing back this week who has shared with me their story and I'm not at all shocked! These stories aren't mine to tell but they are heart breaking! My point is this: #1 SO many are still sitting there with this cult lost, hurt, destroyed, frustrated, broken, poor, homeless, unloved, un-nurtured, beat down, and the list goes on and on and on with these conditions. And #2 this isn't what Christ came to the flesh for. This isn't what God intended for his people to endure!
I want to share part of John 10 - I'm going to post both KJV and The Message. I love comparing other versions because they break it down. I still go by KJV BUT if I'm stuck or need a little further meaning, other versions can help so please see The Message below the KJV below:
John 10:1-18 KJV:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4 And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5 And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6 This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7 Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
John 10:1-18 "The Message":
10 1-5 “Let me set this before you as plainly as I can. If a person climbs over or through the fence of a sheep pen instead of going through the gate, you know he’s up to no good—a sheep rustler! The shepherd walks right up to the gate. The gatekeeper opens the gate to him and the sheep recognize his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he gets them all out, he leads them and they follow because they are familiar with his voice. They won’t follow a stranger’s voice but will scatter because they aren’t used to the sound of it.”
6-10 Jesus told this simple story, but they had no idea what he was talking about. So he tried again. “I’ll be explicit, then. I am the Gate for the sheep. All those others are up to no good—sheep stealers, every one of them. But the sheep didn’t listen to them. I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.
11-13 “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary. A hired man is not a real shepherd. The sheep mean nothing to him. He sees a wolf come and runs for it, leaving the sheep to be ravaged and scattered by the wolf. He’s only in it for the money. The sheep don’t matter to him.
14-18 “I am the Good Shepherd. I know my own sheep and my own sheep know me. In the same way, the Father knows me and I know the Father. I put the sheep before myself, sacrificing myself if necessary. You need to know that I have other sheep in addition to those in this pen. I need to gather and bring them, too. They’ll also recognize my voice. Then it will be one flock, one Shepherd. This is why the Father loves me: because I freely lay down my life. And so I am free to take it up again. No one takes it from me. I lay it down of my own free will. I have the right to lay it down; I also have the right to take it up again. I received this authority personally from my Father.”
NTCC knows this. They get you used to their voice so you will follow them. They condition you to hear their voice. They come dressed as a shepherd but are really a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Jesus said that He came that they might have life and that more abundantly. What an amazing and loving God! But can ntcc say that? NO they can't! The only ones that have life and that more abundantly are those in the high ranks in the borg. The sad part is though there abundant life is only here on earth. Davis, Kekel, and such are living high off the hog, padded wallets, etc. I'm begging if you are still in this cult and something has hit a nerve with you today PLEASE know there is TRUE Christian life outside of this place! The life is being sucked out of you. It isn't by some chance you are here reading this! The anger you feel from me writing this, from me calling that place a cult is from the conditioning THEY have put in your heart, NOT an anger from God! I can't tell you how much better my CHRISTIAN walk is since I left! I have a REAL relationship with God. I'm not confused and struggling and beat down any more! I am focused on a real relationship with Christ and what He wants for me. He wants to love you! He wants to see you prosper. He wants to see you happy! You deserve it! Jesus said 'come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest'. Come, trust God, restore your heart, restore your mental health, and restore your salvation with a true spark of a loving savior who wants to Give to YOU and not YOU give all to a cult.

This is a good post Kat! The ntcc members really do know something is wrong with the org. How do I know? Because I know the Holy Ghost is faithful to deal with their hearts.
My favorite part of the message describes the org leaders perfectly: "A hired man is not a real shepherd. The sheep mean nothing to him. He sees a wolf come and runs for it, leaving the sheep to be ravaged and scattered by the wolf. He’s only in it for the money. The sheep don’t matter to him."
It's obvious that the sheep don't matter to the org leaders. That's why they demanded that the building crew workers go up on the high buildings with zero safety equipment. I saw Eric Barden do so on a metal roof on the ntcs compound. In the rain he was up on that slippery sheet metal roof of the fellowship hall 20-30 feet above the ground with zero safety equipment. rodger davis sent him up there and, in my opinion, could care less if he fell off. Just like the message says. The wolves in sheep clothing who run ntcc care nothing for the sheep. They are only in it for the money!
